Getting Creative With Entertainment Ideas For Your Next Business Event

Business meetings are usually viewed as not being very enjoyable and are often considered to be little more than a necessary evil at many corporations. Yet corporate event planning professionals know that there are a good number of business entertainers who can enliven an otherwise dreary meeting and provide meaningful content at the same time.

The type of presentation that a company chooses to receive from a corporate entertainer will depend on the business that is hosting the meeting and the atmosphere within the corporation. A company with a strictly conventional office environment might select a motivational speaker whose presentation is formal and straight-forward. Musical bands are a common choice, either during or after a dinner, but there are numerous other types of presentations and business entertainers to consider when planning a meeting or event.

Since business meetings are often dry and number-laden, humor can go a long way toward breaking up boring speeches and seemingly endless slide shows. Comedians who work company specific language into their skits are usually a huge hit with all levels of attendees. The use of terms and words specific to a business or industry can create a bonding experience with employees because the audience knows that outsiders would not get the jokes.

Providing entertainment to business meeting attendees is important, but delivering a message is perhaps more so. Magicians are a favorite at many corporate events because the magic can be used to represent the magic that is created by the employees and the rabbits they pull out of their hats on a daily basis to satisfy customers. Jugglers can demonstrate how keeping all of those balls in the air is no easier for them than it is for the average office worker, but that the juggling can be fun and rewarding if performed in the right frame of mind. Hypnotists can help attendees get in touch with the needs and wants of their customers by tapping the same desires within themselves.

Humor provides another advantage, especially when incorporated into speeches. No one wants to miss the best one liner delivered all day, so it keeps the audience listening for the information management wants delivered.

Corporate event planning requires that the planner is not only in tune with what will work in a given venue, but also what will not work. A good comedian may be able to provide a lively show at a night club, but if the entertainer tends to use language that might be offensive to some in a business audience, another more appropriate act should be booked. Music can serve either as background sound to a dinner or other activity, or it can be the main event, but thought should be given to the audience and how the type of music selected will be received. It is extremely important to know your audience so you can provide the correct entertainment for the occasion.

As mass media has long taught us, combining entertainment and education is a powerful way to reach people. The best entertainers will be able to work with event planners to incorporate the event's theme and message into their act. Choosing the right entertainment means that the resulting business event will not only be more enjoyable, but also it will become a stronger, more effective means of communicating important ideas.

Increasing Competitive Edge Through Business Events

There is nothing quite like a well-executed business conference, congress or summit to bring together industry executives and B2B buyers and sellers in niche industries all over the world. Delegates and key decision makers in a wide range of business sectors - from life sciences to sports & entertainment - all reach a point when they are in need of a consolidated, go-to source that can competently provide streamlined logistics for professional training, distribution of intelligence, and marketing and logistics for business events. If you have ever wondered how Fortune 500 companies apply new standards and best practices; disseminate new industry information; execute large business conferences, events and training sessions; and generally just stay ahead of the curve in their respective sectors, you should look to globally influential groups for the answer.

When it comes to breathing new competitive life into an industry in the form of training, sales, marketing, and communication strategies, global summits are the world's leading providers of commercially focused events enabling companies to assess novel business strategies and sustain competitive advantage. But their resources, experience, and expertise doesn't stop at business events; these conferences are able to satisfy industry needs in a number of ways, including but not limited to: executive education (via business conferences, summits, congresses, and other events), business information, financial & accountancy training, corporate hospitality, and language training. In the realm of business events and intelligence, they are truly a one-stop shop.

In terms of business conferences, senior executives and decision makers in sectors such as capital markets, life sciences, defense, legal, information technology and healthcare can benefit from a partnership with powerful providers of business information who have a reach that encompasses access to a massive, diverse group of expert speakers and practitioners. Some events attract 30,000 speakers annually who provide niche subject matter, new business information and best practices to large audiences of key industry delegates who will, as a result, go on to excel in their disciplines, disperse new intelligence throughout their ranks, and set new benchmarks for quality. These things are at the very core of what can potentially take flight at well-planned and executed business conferences.

In a competitive global economy in which businesses are forced to ride often erratic waves of success and hardship, business executives have to be prepared to face just about anything. It's critically important for companies to have solid ground on which to stand, even in the midst of a market downturn. For consistency in excellence, industry leaders have to continuously seek and apply new ways to present their companies as the best in the industry - and have the ability to deliver products, services, and information far beyond their lofty presentation. Groups like these have a particularly unique and refined set of tools that encompasses much of what businesses need logistically in order to maintain a significant edge over competitors.

How to Make an Impact With Presentations - Powerful Public Speaking Tips

Not everyone is a natural public speaker. When you meet people, it's easier to speak one-on-one with a person sometimes as opposed to addressing large crowds. It's natural to feel nervous before giving a public speech or presentation. However, too much nervousness and improper speaking techniques can be detrimental to your presentation.

With enough practice, the following powerful public speaking tips will make you a natural public speaker in no time.

• Know your material well - If you aren't prepared for speech/presentation, it will show. Know your material/topic well before you present. Know more about the subject than you actually use in your speech. You want to come across as an expert on the topic. Use personal anecdotes, humor (if appropriate) and avoid jargon - this will allow you to speak easily about your topic.
• Practice and more practice- Rehearse a few times in front of other people. Practice with the AV equipment you plan to use, especially if you give a PowerPoint presentation. Remember to pause and breathe throughout your speech, and practice with a timer (especially if you have limited time to speak).
• Know your room - Arrive early to the room so you can set up your projector, laptop, etc. Test microphones and visual aids to make sure everything runs properly before speaking.
• Personally greet your audience - Greet audience members as they enter the room. This will ease your nervousness and puts you on a friendly, personal level with audience members/guests.
• Use positive visualization techniques - Before giving your speech, visualize your speech running smoothly. Imagine yourself speaking in a clear, confident voice. Visualize your audience smiling and clapping loudly at the end of your speech.
• Relax and concentrate on your message - Relax and take a few deep breaths before you speak. Don't focus on your anxieties and nervousness. Focus on your intended message and audience members. Remember that your audience/guests want you to succeed. Don't ever apologize for your nervousness or glitches - the audience will never notice the problems.
• Gain public speaking experience - Take a public speaking class or join a professional speakers' organization. If you don't feel confident giving presentations, there are experts who can steer you in the right direction. The more speeches/presentations you give, the more confident you'll feel speaking in front of large groups.

Avoid the following mistakes when giving a presentation/speech:

• Don't copy other speakers' presentation styles
• Don't read your speech word-for-word
• Don't speak in a quiet, monotone voice - use voice inflection (and enunciate words)
• Don't stand in one place - work the room
• Be well-prepared and don't make up your presentation as you go (you will make yourself look foolish and unprofessional)
• Don't begin your speech by saying "Thank You" - start your presentation with a bang
• Don't use other people's stories - Personalize your speech by using your own experiences (using other people's quotes are acceptable)

Remember that public speaking is a learned art and won't happen overnight. With time and practice your presentations will sound both polished and professional.

Do You Invest in Growing Yourself and Your Business?

Let me clear in what I am asking so we're on the same page. I mean do you put time, energy, and money into your own personal growth and in the growth of your business?

Why am I asking this question?

I've seen a trend over the years developing as a result of marketing with so many free giveaways. Offering free teleseminars, bonus gifts, intros to upcoming programs, sample sessions.. are all important ways we introduce ourselves to new people. It's a viable marketing practice that has merit.

In a conversation with several colleagues on new business paradigms, we wondered:

1. Are we giving away too much for free? The more people give, the more people want. Without having a boundary of, "Enough is enough!" that you stick to, many people will come back for more and more and more. Each time you give more, you raise the bar of other people's expectations that can become insatiable. What was initially offered as a gift now becomes an expectation that is often discarded as having real value.

Do you treat the things you pay for the same as the things you get for free?

2. Have we educated potential clients and customers to expect receiving high value freebies all the time just to get something for free? Personally, I stand behind creating high value in anything that has my name on it whether it is free or not. It's also one of the ways I market my business and many people get on lists just to get something and then opt-out. I've been guilty of that myself. Attracting the right and perfect clients who are the right fit is the goal of everyone who is in business.

3. Do people feel a sense of entitlement to receive what others have invested years of learning and cultivating for free? A good friend of mine relayed a story of a client who told her she registers for programs and at the end of each program, she asks for her money back for a variety of reasons. This tactic allows her reap the benefits of the programs without paying for it. Copying and distributing proprietary material without permission or compensation to the owner is another form of theft. What goes around....

4. Have we become a society of takers; looking to get as much as we can for the least amount of time, energy, and money? Do you joyfully pay people for their services, products, and programs knowing that you'll benefit in the end if you take advantage of what they have to offer? Do you always look for the discount or try to bargain the person down like a nickle and dimer? Approaching life from "what's in it for me" is one of the surest ways to block the flow of abundance into your life.

5. How are people assessing value? By the dollar amount or by the potential of having a life-changing experience? That's the difference between looking at things as a cost and expense or as a value and investment in themselves AND their future.

Can you relate to these questions?

Several years ago I was contemplating registering for a program that a good friend of mine told me about. I was at a turning point in my business and I had been bumping up against some emotional blocks that were rooted in old beliefs. When I calculated the total amount of airfare, hotel, and registration costs, the figure was around $3500 for the 8-day program. Let's also add in traveling, meals, and time away from my business. My initial reaction to my friend was, "WOW that's expensive." because I was looking at the program as a cost and expense rather than an investment in ME, the potential healing and personal transformation, and the benefits to my business. I realized that was the largest investment I ever considered making in myself. That was eye-opening. Wasn't I worth it?

She replied, "What is the investment clients make when they hire you to coach them individually or to register for one of your programs? Would you expect them to pay for what you have to offer if you don't value the skills, talents, and experience others have cultivated?" Yikes. Her questions caused me to look at how I judged the value others placed on their programs and services. How could I expect potential clients to value my services if I begrudged others prosperity for their contributions?

So, I registered for the first program and went on to do two more over the next six months. Saying yes was one of the biggest and best investments I ever made in myself.

On Facebook last week here is what someone wrote in response to my invitation to one of my Compelling Conversations interviews, which is FREE:

She wrote, "There are much too many of these teleseminars out here on FB and not one of them help! It is all about the money."

Here is my answer: "The really good ones offer a lot of content value. Being of service to others to improve the quality of others' lives is at the heart of most presenters I know AND we are also running a business. It's what each person does with the information that makes the difference. The question I would ask you is, How comfortable are you in marketing your own business and asking people to pay you?"

* To grow yourself, you must invest in yourself.
* To build a thriving business, you must invest in growing it.
* To have a great life, you must be investing in growing yourself and your business

Making wise choices in where you invest your time, energy, and money is prudent. When someone has a potentially life-changing service, product, or program that calls to your heart, invest in yourself and say YES. Do it because you are worth it and because everyone you know will benefit for the person you become.

Opening to greater prosperity also means blessing the generosity of others without expecting those gifts as entitlements. Wish everyone great success because we are all connected. Judgments, stinginess, jealousy, anger, resentments... all create constriction to receiving the flow of abundance. When we bless other people's success we receive those blessings in return.

You Deserve to Be Rich

Everybody wants to be rich. You deserve to be rich, but "Rich" is not something that can be bought at the local store or supermarket. Rich is what you get when you use your brains, your knowledge, your hard work, and of course a Brilliant Idea.

There are plenty of money making ideas but you need to tap in your own potential and specific talent. There is no point in trying to do something you don't understand.

How to make money online?

Today, the internet has opened up a world far beyond the realm of offices and industries, factories and workshops, shops and malls. If you have the idea and the potential, there are people who will help you convert your idea and potential so that you can make money from it.

There are people who are willing to pay for your opinion, your thought and even your purchasing habits. For example, there are people who need help blogging and will willingly pay for it.

Surveys for consumer awareness and surveys for consumer preferences are potential sources that provide substantial information on how you can make money online. Here, are some making money ideas that you can use:

• Good with words? See if you can do something with copy writing or article writing, story writing or even proofreading and editing.
• Good with numbers? Set up a site where you can help others get their numbers right.
• Good with languages? There are a thousand or more sites looking for translators in the world even as we speak.
• Good at teaching? There are many who cannot afford formal education. Here is one money making idea where not only do you educate, you earn from it too.

So you see it is not difficult to find money making ideas. What is difficult is to have these ideas make money for you. The main hard work is to find that one "brilliant idea", which uses your potential, your abilities and your knowledge so you are on your way to becoming rich.

A systematic approach

A good way to start with your "how to make money online" project should be to surf the internet and find out what are the available business options. Look for one that fits your qualifications, where you know what they are talking about.

Don't worry about duplication. Duplication is part and parcel of the game. What you need to worry about is how your website is going to be different from the others. It must look good, be user friendly and above all it needs to give what it promises. It needs to translate into a making money idea.

Remember, there are lots of fake websites out there. You are not one of those and you must be able to convince potential customers of the same.

Entrepreneur - Are You Ready?

We have read Entrepreneur Magazine and Success Magazine. We have spoken to friends to mixed reviews, and have a nest egg. Are we ready to be an Entrepreneur? What does it mean? Do I have the background? Do I have enough Capital? Can I make it? Is the economy stable enough?

The above questions come into play nearly every time one of us thinks we are ready to be an entrepreneur. Owning a new business is the dream of many, and even more dream of it and stop the process, usually because of fear and concern about the future. Are the above questions the only questions we need to ask about entrepreneurship? The answer is no, but not the no you may be thinking of. Owning a new business is about some of the inquiries, such as capital, but really the answer is simpler than you think.

We have all heard of Dell Computers. There are some of you reading this very article on a Dell computer. Michael Dell started Dell computers with $1000.00! He became the youngest CEO of a company ever to earn a ranking on the Fortune 500. The company currently ranks No. 6 on Fortune magazine's Global "Most Admired" list. Another Entrepreneur we know of is Richard Branson. He began his career around the age of 17. School was extremely difficult for him as he struggled with dyslexia. He built his empire without having a corporate office. He officed from home. Warren Buffett started his business career delivering newspapers! Now he is making offers on Railroads for $34 Billion dollars.

What does it take to be ready to be an Entrepreneur? Here is a 6 part list, that, I would like you to review: Maybe this will help you in determining your entrepreneur tendencies

1. You like Challenges

2. Your Creative energy creates an atmosphere of out of the box problem solving

3. You are impulsive by nature and not afraid of risk

4. You are not afraid of making mistakes; you realize that as Wayne Gretzky says: "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take"

5. You are able to be passionate about the things you like

6. You are willing to take on responsibility and fix challenges

In conclusion: Many thousands of businesses have begun with no more than a passion, a little persistence and prayer. Take a look at your strengths and determine, or better yet, Make a Decision to pursue a new business! Entrepreneurship is not for everyone, but if you feel that extra drive, willingness to work hard and BELIEVE IN YOURSELF, then consider becoming an entrepreneur. There are many low cost businesses available today. Equal amounts of low cost franchises for sale. Every new business starts with step and grows as you walk down trails that have already been blazed. Just start Today!

I have helped dozens of aspiring entrepreneurs find the right business for as little as $3000.00 up to $200,000.00. I have also seen many of them achieve 6 figure incomes. Twitter Success Series - Choosing Your Twitter Username

When choosing your Twitter username, go for something that is either your actual name or something that describes what you offer. It depends which one you want to push more. Do you want to create more profile for yourself or promote your cause? Are you looking to make yourself into a brand or make yourself the 'go to' person for one thing?

In my case, I went with Matthew_Duggan (MatthewDuggan without the underscore was already taken). I could have also have gone for something along the lines of LondonActor or SocialMediaGuy but when I set it up, I wanted to push my profile more than just my job title. As an actor, I'm aware that my profile is quite important to my success in my chosen business, so I decided to go for a variation on my own name rather than say, LondonActor. I also know that people buy people first and knowing my name is the first step of them getting to know me.

While you're deciding, let me give you a few tips on names:

  • Go for something memorable, whether it's your name or what you do.
  • Only use your business name if you want to create a brand for a large multi-national company on Twitter. If you're just on there to promote yourself and your small to medium business, using a corporate name will confuse people and most probably put them off following you.
  • Don't use random or 'wacky' names like coolbeans1994 or luvbug_2143 (both names that are registered on Twitter at the time of writing), especially if you're not even going to bother filling out the biography information in your profile. It just looks odd and makes you really hard to find which can only be bad for business.
  • If you don't use your own name, make your username something that people will think of when they think of your field of expertise e.g.: www.twitter.com/MsInternetMkt for internet marketing or www.twitter.com/GardeningGuru for gardening advice.

Selling Your Home - Tips For Success

There are a lot of real estate based articles these days that deal with the status of the market, how to take advantage of the market if you're a buyer, and even articles that speak of real estate "hot spots" throughout the nation. What you don't see much of these days and in terms of real estate articles is information on how to sell a home effectively and so this article will deal with the many different things involved with not just selling a home but getting a fair price for it, as well as how to present a home to potential buyers.

Speaking with several Santa Barbara real estate agents, I learned that there are a number of things a homeowner can do to make their home or properly look more attractive to buyers. The following tips are those I took away from the conversations with each Realtor. They contain information that will help you not only sell your home but sell it at a high price too.

Create a multiple-offer situation - When selling your home it's a good idea to entertain more than one offer at a time. In fact by entertaining multiple offers you can create an emotional bidding war between potential buyers. Emotional people are more apt to paying more for your home as they'll do what they can to keep others from buying they home they have their heart set on.

Reputable and experienced real estate agents - Selling a home can be tough in a good market. Having an agent on your side in these times is invaluable and can help ensure that you're not only treated fairly throughout the selling process but that you get the highest dollar for your home. Real estate agents are generally people persons and can help keep communication between you and potential buyers smooth, professional, and on track. An experienced real estate agent will also have the ability to help you stage your home for sale, making it look as attractive as possible to buyers.

Flexible Open Houses - Open houses allow a seller or their real estate agent to show the home to potential buyers. This is a chance for you and your home to make a great first impression on all those who enter to view it. Peoples lives are busier than ever however and the typical one day a week open house isn't going to work for many people. Rather than hold an Open house during either Saturday or Sunday, consider opening up the house for an entire weekend. Additionally start the Open house early and end it late. The greater your home's availability, the more opportunity there is for people to view it and hopefully make an offer.

Advertising - Be prepared to market your home. Getting the word out is perhaps the biggest hurdle in effectively marketing and selling a home. Of course there's printed media such as newspapers and flyers, but those who want an edge will utilize the internet and advertise their home online. Working with a Santa Barbara real estate agent will allow sellers to aggressively market their homes on the internet as most agents have high profile websites.

Again, selling a home in this day and age isn't easy but it isn't impossible either. Be prepared to not only be flexible with showings, price, and demands but don't rule out working with an experienced real estate professional either. The selling process is complicated when the market is healthy, but the current conditions all but dictate you get help from someone who understands the market, you, and your home.

6 Tips For Small Business Success in 2010

Don't Take Notes From Big Business
Are your marketing efforts not yielding results justifying the investment? Before you react, consider your view of marketing itself.

I've found a tendency for small business owners to consider marketing in the way big businesses practice it. To illustrate the point, think of five advertisements. Now, compare your marketing budget to theirs. Do they compare?

Celebrity endorsements, television commercials and billboard ads are expressions of marketing that typically come to mind. It's natural. We're a product of our environment and we're constantly saturated with corporate messaging.

How businesses have marketed over the past 80 years is a result of mass production. Large-scale output led to mass marketing and created mass media. Like its products, companies found that packaging and delivering marketing content was also an efficient business practice.

Businesses wanted their messages to be seen by the most people possible. The bigger, the better philosophy worked because demand exceeded supply. "Market" evolved into a verb. It became something that producers did to customers.

Return to the Marketplace
To reevaluate your view of marketing, consider an original practice. Marketing began hundreds of years ago as literally going to a marketplace to sell a good. Craftsmen would engage buyers face to face. He encouraged conversations and built relationships in order to sell his product. His craft became an extension of him. "Market" was something done with customers.

For small businesses to succeed in 2010, you'll need to return to the marketplace. Rather than setup a booth at a flea market, try to give customers what they want. Not just with your product or service, but in your marketing.

I can't think of someone who demands more adverting but everyone appreciates a good conversation. Conversations engage us in a powerful way. They contribute to partnerships, inspire ideas, make us laugh and may even cause you to sell something.

Determining the best place to start your conversation will depend on your product or service. Start by investigating options to market online. Consider social media networks as an opportunity to allow you to convey your unique voice. Like the old marketplace, encouraging a conversation will build relationships. Not only is it more personal, it's more effective.

Continue to Invest in Your Business
When some small business owners feel the pinch, they react by drastically reducing their marketing budgets. However, continuing to invest in your business is especially important during a downturn.

Competition actually increases during a recession. As many talented people are laid off, they substitute their time by innovating and opening businesses of their own. The Internet itself is also increasing competition. For example, Esty is a website that allows individuals to sell goods without having to operate a business of their own.

As consumers become more conscious of the dollars they spend, they more thoroughly evaluate potential purchase decisions. Consumer review and price comparison websites keep today's consumer well informed.

Facing increased competition is not a time to lay-low. Smart marketers know that their efforts create long-term friendships. When we emerge from the recession, the value of continually maintaining friendships will be realized. If your business isn't proactive, your competition could recruit the majority of post-recession friends!

Continue to invest into your business. If you're marketing efforts haven't achieved the results you desired, re-think your strategy. Consider relying on a professional or hiring a consultant to advise potential strategies.

Stop considering yourself as a company.
This may seem counter intuitive. As a small business owner you wear many hats, from accountant to supervisor. The next time you put on your marketing hat, stop thinking of yourself as a company.

People don't particularly like companies. Companies want to sell us on something. They use automated phone systems that keep us from a human being for as long as possible. They charge us too much for coffee.

The challenge isn't to convince people to like your company. That's a difficult fight to win. Instead focus on the associations people have with your company. What does your product or service mean to them?

To help realize your potential in 2010, consider your business' identity in the minds of your customer. It's how they define you that really matters.

Take Calculated Risks
People like to stick to what they know. We are creatures of habit and tend to fear change. But, if you completely eliminate risks, you also eliminate the opportunity to grow.

It's a new era in business. We have new challenges that require new solutions. Perhaps you have refrained from new opportunities to market your business fearing they won't match with your customers. But consider the importance of reaching and influencing existing customers. Yes, frequent customers make up a significant portion of your sales but frequent customers aren't synonymous with loyal customers.

Consider marketing less-popular products or services to target lower-volume customers as they represent the greatest growth potential. Small businesses are more nimble than the big guys. If you try something new and it doesn't work out, you can more quickly change your strategy. You don't face long negotiation processes, there's no red tape and minimal office politics stand in your way.

There is uncharted territory to be covered along with new successes to be realized. Maintaining complete control is a losing game in today's market place. Instead take a managed risk. Just start small. Until you venture to try something new, you won't know your business' full potential.

Re-Define Failure
We have come to a universal understanding that failure is a bad thing and should be avoided at all costs. You've heard the phrase, "happiness is a state of mind," but consider that failure, too, can be a state of mind.

Failing can actually make us smarter. There is great value in learning from our mistakes. If we apply an understanding of what went wrong to future efforts we can improve their effectiveness.

Re-think your definition of failure. Even if an effort doesn't achieve your initial goals, don't jump to classifying your efforts as a failure. You may actually uncover success in your failure in the form of information. Apply what you learned to improve the effectiveness of your next initiative.

Just as there are new challenges for 2010, there are new opportunities. Technology has gifted business owners with thousands of new opportunities to reach customers. Unfortunately, new technologies are frequently avoided. We don't always understand them and they have yet to be "prove" their effectiveness.

The truth is that you don't have to be a technological expert to employ all these new technologies. Many innovations are so user-friendly; they don't require hiring an expert. Regardless of how your business uses technology, the role of technology in your customer's life is increasing in importance.

Once we realize that failure doesn't have to be a disheartening blow to your ego or bank account, we can begin to plan on failure. Accounting for failure reduces the risk involved with failing and establishes a system for future successes.

Wholesale Jewelry - Keys to Business Success That the Middlemen Do Not Want You to Discover

Have you ever been neck-deep in organizing a lot of different things for your online shop? Do you end up with more hassle than gem in trying to find the right gold jewelry for your online business? I would consider this a hazard of this job. However, even this hazard can work positively and can be used as a step-ahead as soon as you learn where to look. First, find out business research topics you need to know about. You can spend all your time researching about jewelry but may waste precious business time if you encounter all the other hits that you will get if you search for the wrong keyword to focus on. You would not want to concern yourself with knowing more about sterling jewelry if you plan to have gold jewelry as your product niche. One trap that stops eBay powersellers on their tracks is distraction from a lot of information that does not allow them to focus on their product niche.

Part of the research work would include sifting through countless information to dig gold, literally gold jewelry. Things that you may want to focus on should include: current gold trends that are bestsellers in the market, most affordable wholesale rate of high-quality gold jewelry, getting your hands on a list of credible gold jewelry wholesalers.

Let us focus on the basics first. Create your customers' profile. Your teenage buyers will definitely not want to wear a design that is not trendy or a design that does not say much about style. As opposed to your older buyers who will not go for the flashy gold jewelry designs or the innocuously big gold earrings, nor three pairs of gold studs designed to be worn at the same time. Know specific answers to such questions as: what styles sell? which gold jewelry items are frequently bought for this season? It is also crucial that you be familiar with current trends so that you are aware what products to keep for your inventory. Remember that your job as a wholesale jeweler is to empower your buyers to have the items that will define the now-generation while expressing their own creativity. If you are fairly new to this industry, do not hoard a lot of items which you have not tested with your buyers yet. A piece of advice from somebody who has done it firsthand: if unsure about what item to get, go and choose classic designs and classic items. This way, you lessen the risk of wastage on time and money as you try creating your clientele in this industry.

Some of you may ask, why go for wholesale when buying gold jewelry? Others argue that sellers mislead people when they highlight items differently when in fact, they have bought the items wholesale. My take on it, as long as you do not misrepresent any of your items jeopardizing the quality of your products, then better not offer these items to your buyers. The only difference you will get if you go for wholesale is maximized buying power which would translate to better profits. I mean, who would not want that? If you can fairly give your buyers a positive customer experience while enjoying this perk, I will definitely take this route and enjoy being an eBay powerseller.

Affiliates and Ways to Advertise Them to Get Traffic

There are many ways to advertise your product or service, and choosing the right one is key. You can use Pay Per Click or PPC as it is known. Solo ads is another way to advertise, viral marketing, using social networks to promote your site such as face book or twitter. Then there is the free advertising.

The first type of advertising for your site is free advertising. You want to use this type of advertising to see how your website tracks attention. If you are getting visitors but no one is converting to paying customers, then you need to review your site. Before you shell out a lot of money to advertise your site this is the best way to go.This is where you take a look at your site to see if you need to make changes.

The next way is Pay Per Click, PPC this is where the advertiser pays the host every time the ad is clicked. this is where you want to use a very targeted market so the ad will only show up in the market you are offering. This way the ad is only clicked by the ones who are really interested in you product or service.

Another way to advertise is Banner Ads. Not many people use these but I think it a way to advertise that can be useful. This is where you place a banner on some one else' s site. Or you can place a banner on some ezines. You can create your own or pay to have some one create one for you. There is also some that will do the work for you for free, they do this help advertise for them.

Here is another way to advertise and this is really inexpensive. Maybe you are already doing this, packing business cards with you. You can get about 250 printed up for about 20 bucks. Have ever seen in a restaurant a place where you place a business card , or your favorite gas station, leave one there. Next time you are out shopping find a way to bring up what you are doing with the cashier or people you meet at your salon or barber. The conversation may start something like this. How are you doing? Your reply, is started a new business and go from there leaving your business card with them to look over.

There are many ways to advertise and some will cost you a great deal of money, if you don't watch what you are doing. But you can avoid a great amount of cost if you test the waters first. I have just mention a few here, but doing your research on what is best for you and what kind of budget you have you can make all the difference. Doing it free first will get you started on the right foot and if you need to tweak your website this is the way to find out.

You should try various ways to collect information and make full use of the information you gather. In this way, you can promote the product that is tailored towards what people want in a specific market. Giving people what they want will dramatically increase the amount of affiliate marketing commission you obtain.

Secondly, you should select an affiliate program which has a generous commission rate. Many affiliate programs offer the same types of products with different commission rate. You should do your research and you will find a program that offers a better rate than the others.

You can make full use of the relevant articles to increase your affiliate commission. You should keep in mind that the articles should be related with the products or services you promote. It should be a review of the product instead of a sales pitch. When your articles get published it will increase traffic to your website which is promoting your product.

The Secret For Success - How to Get the Very Best

"The point is, ladies and gentleman, that greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right, greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind." Michael Douglas as Gordon Gekko in the film, Wall Street

We saw it in the film Stay Hungry with Arnold Schwarzenegger and again in Wall Street with Michael Douglas, the secret to success is hunger... a deep insatiable hunger to win and succeed. It's a simple message. It's been promoted in movies, in books, tapes, CDs etc... yet it does not seem to get through.

The message gained worldwide attention in the 1937 book, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. In his book, Mr. Hill talks about a burning desire. He says, "Desire is the starting point of all achievement, not a hope, not a wish, but a keen pulsating desire which transcends everything."

The secret for success has been called, greed, hunger, burning desire along with many other variations of the same element; however, for many people, the message does not seem to get across. The theory is mentally understood but the formula does not gel.

It is easy to understand that desire is essential to succeed at anything. What is not so evident is to grasp the intensity that this desire needs to be if it's to be truly effective. The notion of desire is easy to understand. What is much harder to convey and to seize is the quality of the passion with which this desire has to be felt.

The intensity of the desire that is required has to be proportional to the scope of the object of that desire. The bigger the objective the more passionate the desire has to be. Anyone who can truly connect with this fundamental axiom does not need another piece of advice on how to succeed. It says it all.

The story of success is the story of desire and the story of great success is the story of passionate desire of epic proportion. The kind of desire that will motivate the world-class athlete to train everyday for years to the point of exhaustion.

The kind of desire that motivated actor Sylvester Stallone to turn down an offer of $350,000 for the script of the movie Rocky because they would not let him be the leading actor in the film. And that, at the time when Stallone was so broke that he had to sell his beloved dog, Butkus, for $15.00 because he could no longer afford to feed him.

Benjamin Disraeli said, "Nothing can resist a will which will stake even existence upon its fulfillment." That says something about the power of a burning desire. If the desire is great enough, almost anything is possible.

Do we have to be obsessed to succeed? Actually, what is needed for large-scale accomplishments and major success is what could be called, "a magnificent obsession." That is, a consummate passion but not a consuming one. A passion that gives wings but not one that destroys. The kind of passion that can be controlled but is not controlling. The passion that stands at the edge but will not topple over.

Success is like a beautiful mistress that has to be pursued with the passion of a burning desire. Once that this truism is understood, accepted and assimilated, the path is open and the road is clear. Then, all that is required to succeed on any scale is to follow the heart's dictate. That's where the compass that leads to the brass ring resides.

Success and You - Journey of Self Improvement

Everything that happens occurs for a reason. Sometimes it's good and other times not so fortunate. Whatever thoughts and actions you take will dictate the outcome. When the going gets tough, everything in sight becomes an obstacle and we are often halted in our journey to pursue personal development. Instead of burying yourself in your world of emotions, fears and failures accumulated from the past, treat every incidence as your teachers, for they will be valuable tools in your journey to both self improvement and success. No event in life is experienced in vain, if you discover (and learn) the lesson within.

Remember Patch Adams, the medical student that failed his medical board exams? After suffering from months of melancholy and depression he voluntarily sought medical treatment in a psychiatric ward. Through his hospital stay he came to find ways of treating his own ailment and in turn found the conviction to remain true to his dream of becoming a doctor. With a positive attitude he came to achieve success. Through his journey of personal development, he rose above all obstacles, became a better person and enriched the lives of those around him.

So, when does self improvement become synonymous with success? Where do we start on this journey of personal development?

Here are some tips to get you started:

- Whenever a negative thought about yourself arises, halt your thought and replace it with a positive affirmation about yourself. In truth, the first step to personal success is to learn to accept and appreciate who you are.

- When you see hunks and models on television, focus your thoughts on self improvement, not self pity and certainly not jealousy, for jealousy can make one bitter.

- View life as a journey of lessons to be learnt. Don't beat yourself up if you didn't quite achieve something on the first attempt, think of it as an opportunity to master it better the next time around.

- Take things one step at a time. Personal development is a life journey, not a day trip. So, remember to smile and enjoy everyday as it comes.

- Self-improvement results in inner stability, personal development and SUCCESS. It comes from self-confidence, self-appreciation and self-esteem.

- Set meaningful and achievable goals. Self-improvement doesn't mean trying to be the next Cameron Diaz or Bruce Willis. It aims to result in an improved and better YOU.

Remember, life is a journey filled with lessons and adventures along the way. The outcomes you achieve depend on how you react to each event in life, which in turn is dictated by your thoughts and outlook on life. So, remember to stay positive and embrace whatever comes your way. As Forest Gump' momma said: "Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."

Your Success and the Mindset You Portray is a Mosaic of Your Life

I've always admired mosaics, for their beauty and talent required to create one, and because of their similarity to our lives. A mosaic is a number of proficiently broken pieces of colored glass or stone, specifically placed to create a well thought-out design, which may vary in color, design and function.

That's exactly how your success, be it business success or personal success, shows up in your life. Whether you realize it or not, your every thought, impacts the mindset you function within and ultimately your success. Regular and similar thoughts impress your conscious mind, causing your behavior to align itself to those thoughts, resulting in a transformation of your beliefs.

Focusing on your success, ask yourself: "Have I designed a life mosaic I'm happy with?, Am I achieving real success that I desire in my life?, Is my life mosaic colorful and does it have a purpose?, Am I leading down a path that will assist me to achieve my goals?, Do I deserve more out of life than I am presently getting?"

If you are unhappy with your answers you need to spend time reflecting on the points below and focus on transforming the mindset to accomplish real success in your life - your future depends on it.

Let's consider each facet of the mosaic and identify the essential elements to resolve if you are to achieve real success and ultimately live the life you deserve.

Change The Result By Changing The Mindset

Your thoughts are compared to the artist's well thought-out design. What you think and pay attention to eventually creates the mindset within, and ultimately determines your reality. It's therefore critical to make a conscious effort to only pay attention and give thought to those things you want to accomplish.

Determine what your true resolution in life is and the goals and dreams you aspire to. Then put the required energy into focusing your mindset on achieving them. Don't be distracted by negative self-talk. Only pay attention to your intention - nothing else.

Your Success Requires Action

As with a mosaic, the specific placement of the tiles creates the chosen design, your specific actions will take you closer to your success, leading you to the life you have chosen to design. "A vision without action is just a dream. An action without a vision is merely a passing of time. But a vision with action can change the world."

Are you prepared to change your world? Are you willing to take the essential actions to realize your success?

Your Real Success is Displayed in Your Masterpiece

Your final mosaic masterpiece is your results. Your final result and your real success is the realization of your primary thoughts into reality. By adopting an unwavering certainty that you will achieve your goals and by deciding to move one step closer to achieving these goals with every action you take, you strengthen your mindset and belief in yourself. Realize however, that real success will require you to get out of your comfort zone and to close all avenues that will not lead you to achieve your success. Leaving no alternatives on the table, forces you to make decisions that will facilitate you in achieving the life you desire - and deserve.

Ultimately, your success is determined by the mindset you create due to the nature of your thoughts, the actions and behavior you take as a consequence of this mindset and your certainty and definition of real success.

That said, ponder on your failures and evaluate the mindset and actions you assumed which led to the failure. Consider what you could have done differently to have achieved a better outcome. In all probability you will realize that the mindset you had led you to make incorrect decisions and take the wrong actions. Use failures as a lesson to maximizing your success.

Your life is therefore a mosaic of your failures, experiences and encounters. Make each design a masterpiece you are proud of and one that will guide you closer to your victory.

Innovation is the Key to Small Business Success

Our country was founded on the small business owner. Mom and pop stores used to be everywhere and eventually some of these smaller companies grew into great big corporations. However, many of these large companies have forgotten their small business innovation roots.

It is often easier for a small business to make innovative changes than for a larger company. Larger companies have to deal with an infrastructure that is not always conducive to change. Smaller companies are often more customer-focused since they are more acutely aware of how important a customer is to the survival of the company.

Many people complain about a lack of customer service from the larger stores. Now not every behemoth of a company lacks great customer service, they just have to work much harder to get there. Smaller companies that use innovation to remain competitive do have one problem that a larger company does not. Innovation is not always an inexpensive process. As smaller stores have to pay close attention to the bottom line, money for innovation is not always easy to manage.

Since the company's resources may be limited, a small business will need to choose which New Product Development you want to promote. Once this has been accomplished, the small business can put its available resources behind the innovation. Something as simple as ensuring employees are empowered to make decisions to take care of customer's concerns on the spot is an example of innovation that a business can implement.

Training employees to understand how they can make these decisions will not be too expensive to undertake. The return on this innovative customer service technique will be more than ten-fold for the company and provide the business consulting services with a key advantage when competing with larger companies.

Did you know that HOW you design your client payment plans can make the difference between your prospective client saying, "Yes!" versus muttering, "Let me think about it?"

This applies to services, programs and even products offered on your Web site. So it's wise to understand what works -- and what doesn't! -- so you can make it easy for your prospective clients to say "yes" to you.

Now, the problem is, most Soul-preneurs™ feel uncertain as to how to design their payment plans. Many rely on the simple "order now and save XYZ amount" strategy. And while that's a good one, in this economy that alone is not compelling enough to motivate people to hire you or invest in your info product.

Which is why my Platinum clients and I carefully design what payment plan strategy is going to work best for each of their service or info product launches. It's just too important to leave to chance or not get expert help creating!

The good news is that I've spent years figuring out what works in the area of pricing and money. Here are three SIMPLE strategies that will instantly help you design a compelling offer your prospective clients will love to say "Yes!" to.

Pricing Plan Strategy #1: Offer a Valuable Incentive For Paying in Full

You'll be surprised at how many clients will choose a full pay option in order to save big or qualify for a special high-value incentive.
For example, in my new 2009 Platinum Program the full pay option is generously rewarded with a special "preferred client" coaching day with me on the topic of pricing and money. This is in addition to a significant savings. Together, these create powerful reasons for new Platinum members to not only apply for the program but to choose the full payment option.

Pricing Plan Strategy #2: Create a Reason WHY a Client Should Say "Yes" to Your Offer Now... Instead of Later

Most Soul-preneurs™ mistakenly give their prospective clients far too long to make their investment decision. This backfires because human nature is such that the longer someone has to decide the more likely they are to talk themselves out of making a "yes" decision.
That's a shame because that means that's someone you're not able to help. So keep your cut-off dates more immediate, then use your marketing to create energy, excitement and a reason for people to say "yes" to you within this shorter time frame.

Pricing Plan Strategy #3: Aim to Make Your Bonuses Total MORE Than the Original Service or Product Being Purchased

Like you, I'm NOT a fan of offering a hodgepodge array of bonuses that look like someone just cleaned out the back of their closet. Instead, design bonus products or services that have real value to your clients and that if purchased separately, total up to even more than the original item offered. Even better, offer at least one bonus that can't be purchased separately, emphasizing its appeal as an "exclusive" available only to your clients when they invest in your program or product.

Think Creatively When It Comes To Your Pricing Plan Options

While there are many more pricing plan strategies you can use, these three will get you started quickly and help you feel more confident in launching your new programs and products. Remember that the easier you make it for your prospective clients to say "Yes!" the more you'll be able make a positive difference for them while making more money!

Seven Secrets of Business Success

Have you ever wondered about the measures that most successful business men and women have taken to gain the success they enjoy? There may not be a set formula, but those who have tasted such success would agree there are certain strategies that can have a dramatic effect on how well a business functions. We reveal seven secrets that could transform your business today:

1. The importance of networking
Many entrepreneurs will devote time to finding and cultivating relationships with key peers, mentors and advisers. These relationships are important for fueling future business and supporting the business with crucial needs. Make the effort to network with people who can help your business become better. Websites like Meeting Wave are being used by more and more companies as a means of business networking.

2. Be 100% customer focused
First identify your customers' needs and wants. What can your business do to make their lives better? Then be committed to delivering the best customer service possible. Master these two things and you will help form a loyal customer base on which to grow your business.

3. Know your weaknesses and strengths
Evaluate what your business strengths and weaknesses are. Don't place the majority of your efforts into resolving your weaknesses. Instead, focus on your strengths and help your company become one that excels in these areas. Mastery will gain attention from potential and existing customers.

4. Be adaptable
Nothing is ever certain, especially in the business world. As the world changes, so do people and their needs. Make your company one that is able to change and adapt according to these needs. Be willing to do things differently or offer different services if you see the need arise.

5. Keep looking for better ways
High productivity is a key function of successful businesses. Evaluate the way your business works and always look for ways to improve productivity. Examples of methods used to achieve this are technology, automation, outsourcing and improving business processes.

6. Balance your business lifestyle
It's easy to become totally consumed with your business. Many successful entrepreneurs agree it's important to maintain a healthy balance between business and personal pursuits. Plan your time well and you will develop a business life that is more enjoyable.

7. See failures and problems as opportunities
When you come up against a difficulty or failure in your business, turn it into an opportunity for growth. Problems are a regular part of business life but how you deal with them could be the difference between true failure and success.

Successful Online Marketing - Your Blueprint to Success

Owning your own successful online blueprint to a fool proof marketing plan or strategy is a step in the right direction it will be one of your major keys to your success. Without a solid, well laid out blueprint, that has a step by step plan, you can bet your last nickel, you're going to end up like the preverbal dog chasing its tail, always coming close but never getting the prize.

When I first started, I went through the Internet maze. I was like ship without a sail, I was moving, but not very fast. I figured if I joined a good business, I could learn from my sponsor. Well, come to find out my sponsor was just as new and raw to Internet marketing as I was. So, it's very important who you partner with in a business, if you partner up with someone that is struggling to learn marketing like you, then where does that leave you?

One of the biggest come-ons in network marketing is the promise of SPILLOVER, "if you join me and my group all you have to is wait for the massive spillover and we will build a huge down line right under you." Well, I heard that more than once. Listen up! If you are ever told that by some that is trying to get you to partner up with them, go the other way, if they rely on spillover, that means they have no marketing skills of their own. Do not invest your money with them!

When I first joined an online business, I was ecstatic, I thought all I had to do is get replicated website from the company and I was on my way to making thousands a month, OK, you guessed it, I was a newbie from the word go. I did pick on the niche market I liked, which is the health and wellness business, because I try to live a healthy lifestyle.

One huge decision you will be making is, deciding on the niche market that you want to build a business with. Once you have chose your niche market, then it's time to investigate the companies that offer that niche market of your choice. The criteria for your choice of company should be as follow. 1. A company that been established for at least five years. 2. A company that has a worldwide distribution network. 3. A pay plan that pays out at minimum of 70% back to its members. 4. A company structured with a forced matrix. 5. A company that allows you to re-enter another matrix. 6. A company that has a good marketing plan to start with and tools for marketing, this helps you until you can put together your own marketing strategies.

Nearly all home based opportunities and affiliate marketing companies will offer a turnkey or self-replicating website, along with an email address and many other marketing tools when you join their program. Many of these marketing tools will consist of auto responding messages, banner ads and more, all there for the members to use, and generally located in your back office. This concludes part one. More to come on your "Successful Online Marketing, Your blueprint To Success."

An Open Letter to Marketing Newbies

Today's article is for raw, "wriggling" newbies. The ones who are brand spanking new to marketing and don't have a lot of time, resources or patience to deal with nonsense and fluff. If that's you, then following is a list of ideas to consider.

This list is by no means exhaustive. And there ARE exceptions to everything. But this is something lots of people have requested lately.

OK, enough dilly-dally. As the Joker would say... "And here. we. GO ---

  • Never assume others' test results will apply to YOUR marketing.
  • If someone's ads are full of empty hype and contain no substance, you can (usually) bank on their PRODUCT being the same.
  • Just because someone's a celebrity doesn't mean they're an expert.
  • Don't swipe "big launch" sales letters.
  • Run from anyone who publicly counts their money in their ads and sales letters.
  • Consume a good "how to" product at least 10x's before buying the next one.
  • Resist complaining about people sending you sales pitches. (Either unsubscribe or, do what I do and actually READ them)
  • When in doubt, do the OPPOSITE of what the "crowd" is doing.
  • If it sounds too good to be true, it is.
  • Take lists like this one with a grain of salt. (Bet you didn't see this one coming, did you? Believe it or not, some people will do stuff like what I'm doing here to prove how "good" they are, while secretly plotting to fleece you.)

Messed up world, isn't it? Anyway, those are just some ideas to consider. I hope you found them helpful.

Membership Marketing - 7 Types of Emails That Turn Your Members Into Eager-To-Buy Customers

Emailing your members is a vital part of keeping the communication alive and building rapport with them. However, it's not a good idea to send promotional emails often; people don't like to be hard-sold right in their face.

So does that mean you should constantly give pure content without promoting anything? No! In fact, you could send them emails that they will appreciate and be thankful for...yet you can still make boatloads of money in the process.

Here are some ideas that could skyrocket your profits:

1) Give them informative reports or e-books with your website or affiliate links within.

You give them great content, and earn money when someone buys from any of the links in the report.

Better yet, your report could go viral, especially if the reader has found some value from it that could benefit their friends. The key is to actually ask them to pass it on to others who they think would be interested in the information. Tell them they have permission to share, or even resell, the report.

2) Send them great videos to watch.

Videos are extremely powerful tools to convert viewers into buyers. They could entertain, educate, and build rapport. They satisfy both the visual and auditory senses, so they could produce better results compared to e-books or audios.

What types of videos could you make?

- You could take a video of you speaking casually in front of the camera, like you're talking to an old friend.

- If you've delivered a seminar, you could let your members watch it entirely or in parts.

- You could convert your powerpoint presentations into video format. For the voice-over, just read along like you're giving a speech or lecture.

- You could also use Camtasia to record whatever you're doing in your computer.

- If you're a bit camera-shy, you could always outsource the video creation task; although it would be more powerful if people could actually see your personality.

So how do you make money with videos?

- You could give your members excerpts or parts from the entire video, then send them to an order page if they want to watch the full version.

- Put your videos on a webpage and insert ads near those videos where the viewers can see them. (By the way, if you don't want to make your own videos, you could always leverage from other people's videos. Find videos from Youtube, Videojug, Howcast, Metacafe, etc. related to your niche. Then get the embed link to post the videos on your site.)

- Aside from telling your members to watch your videos, you could also submit them to video-sharing sites like Youtube, Revver, Metacafe, Yahoo videos and Google videos for the public to see. Use a video submission program like Tubemogul to submit the videos faster, but read the policies in the video-sharing sites to make sure that's allowed.

3) Update your members on your newest articles or blog posts.

You could email your members a teaser or first few sentences of an article, then ask them to login to read the whole article. You can put up banners or special offer links that they can see once they're logged in to your site.

This is similar to blog posts. You could put non-distracting ads or promos on your blog. The advantage with blogs is that they get excellent search engine rankings, they are great places to establish a relationship with your audience, and they could spark hot conversations (since people can comment on your posts).

4) Make money from your P.S.

If you're sending a purely content email, you could add a P.S. at the end where you subtly promote a product related to the topic of discussion. If you've given them some helpful information in the email, they wouldn't mind a P.S. that complements the content you've given them.

5) Offer time-sensitive discounts or bonuses to either your own products or affiliate items.

Sure, you're promoting something; but just imagine if someone is eager to buy your product but can't afford the full price. Then you suddenly give them the opportunity to get it at a much lower price; don't you think they'll thank you for it? You bet!

6) Conduct webinars or tele-seminars.

You can do it solo, or ask an expert to do it with you. Then email the details, date and time to your members. You're not pitching in the email, and you're giving something beneficial in the webinar or tele-seminar before ever selling anything. Give value first; and at the end of the webinar or tele-seminar, invite them to take a look at your product offer.

7) Add them to your social network.

Ask them to follow you on Twitter, add you as a friend in Facebook or MySpace, or join your forum. You're not marketing to them now, but you're enhancing your social networks and building relationships, which will help build a solid business and earn more money for you in the long run.

These 7 methods are far better than the traditional promo emails because they give value, which makes people actually want to buy from you. Perhaps you could think of other ways to make your members happy or thrilled with your emails. All it takes is a little creativity and customer-oriented approach, and you can become a trusted friend they'd be willing to part their money with.
